Got up early to read we would be in for a solar event reaching the earth in about 49 minutes. Thought from that point on the radio band conditions would be rough. I took a chance and traveled about 2 hours down to Alabama to do a Summit on the Air, Gunters Mountain. This trip I decided to carry light equipment, my Ele craft KH-1 which runs QRP about 4 watts. Much to my surprise I had a great activation all over the US with 4 watts. Thanks, you KC1NDQ, NS1C, K5PE, and AC1Z. 3 bands and 13 different states for a total of 21 contacts.
