Hi Everyone
To get started sending out a Big Thank you to Sheldon and Fran along with everyone who joined
Us for this first fox hunt for team PAWA, along with our surprise guest AG1B, Richard
it was an exciting new event and a lot of fun
We all started out with our H/t’s and Yagi antennas, along with a second h/t that we used to
monitor 146.520mhz simplex, waiting to hear that one of us had found the fox
So once Sheldon gave us the word that he had put the fox in it’s den, it was game on lol
There were many directions to go as we tried to hunt the fox, some of us took a trail, a path
Or headed into the woods, who did that lol, we were then on our way trying to track the signal
When some of us got with in close range we even tried to use that second h/t and remove the
Stock antenna, just when we thought that we had found it, we were not as close as we thought
As we continued on, we then heard K1KOS, this is KC1SJS, Adam and I have
Found the fox
Note – H/t they used was a Yasu, Ft-70 / Antenna was an Arrow 3 element Yagi handheld
The antenna in the photo above that is a 2m / 440mhz that belongs to
team member, W7AAF, Matt, we had all types of gear ready to go and get on the if needed
How cool was that, so definitely a learning lesson for sure and awesome for the first time
learning new skills and techniques, direction finding a good thing to
Know how to do and will practice as we go, because like we say – You just never know
We are looking forward to the next one
As far as the weather goes it was a beautiful day a bit warm a times but that did not stop us at all
We finally had a Saturday without rain and we enjoyed the day and our hobby amateur radio
On the air with friends, showing one another the way, having fun and that’s what it is all about
Stay tuned, there’s more to follow
we are working on details for our POTA club activation / cookout that was also part of this event
Along with that, Field day is now even closer and, on its way, updates on this to follow
Talk to you soon, my friends
Mike, N1NTM
